A trailer carrying heavy machinery overturned
A trailer carrying heavy machinery overturned after it came unfastened from a tractor, blocking a main road in Heywood on Sunday morning (24 March).
The tractor was turning onto Rochdale Road East from Green Lane at around 10.15am when the trailer became unhitched.
Fortunately, no-one was injured, according to a passer-by, who said: “There were pedestrians walking by as this happened and, thankfully, none were injured.
“This is an accident black spot and is especially busy with heavy goods vehicles coming in and out of Green Lane.”
The road was closed whilst Greater Manchester Police dealt with the obstruction.
