The silver award for the Church Mosque Twinning Programme was presented to Revd Mark Coleman and Imam Hassanat
Representatives from Bilal Mosque and St Chad’s Church have been presented with an award for bringing communities together.
The silver award for the Church Mosque Twinning Programme was presented to the faith leaders by Lord Bourne, Minister for Faith, at a special ceremony in London on Monday (25 March).
Reverend Mark Coleman said: “I'm deeply honoured to receive this reward. It's such a pleasure to work with Imam Hassanat and people from both church and mosque. Really, it's no big deal, what we have done is easy enough for any church and mosque to do together and we would really encourage them.”
Revd Coleman and Imam Hassanat also said how grateful they were to Councillor Mohammed Zaman, the Mayor of Rochdale, 'for his encouragement and vision'.
