River Roch in Rochdale town centre flooding imminent
Flooding looks imminent in Rochdale town centre as the river continues to rise.
A spokesperson for Rochdale Borough Council said: “Together with the Environment Agency we are closely monitoring the situation and advise residents to check the Environment Agency website for the latest updates.
“We currently have staff in Rochdale supporting householders and are advising residents and businesses who have flood defence systems to deploy them, with flood doors being shut and locked. We are also liaising with the fire service.”
