Date published: 05 March 2019

A man charged in connection with a shooting in Rochdale has pleaded guilty to section 18 assault.

Vincenzo De-Falco, 27, of Kebroyd Lane, Sowerby Bridge, appeared at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court on Friday 1 March where he pleaded guilty to the charge of Grievous Bodily Harm with intent.

He has since been remanded into custody ahead of a further court appearance, in relation to other charges, via video link on 21 March.

Sentencing is expected to take place at a later date.

Patricia Dean, 56, also of Kebroyd Lane, Sowerby Bridge, was released on bail last month after pleading ‘not guilty’ to assisting an offender.

A trial date for the duo was previously set for July.

In January, a 25-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious leg injuries after he was shot on Knowsley Street, near Falinge Park.

He has since undergone many hours of surgery following the incident, but is still undergoing extensive treatment.
