The Willows Dementia Hub Café

The Woodlands Café at the Willows Dementia Hub on Broad Lane, Rochdale is a welcoming space for the local community to take part in hands-on activities, classes, or relax over some lunch and a cup of tea or coffee.

The flexible, dementia and child friendly facility includes a brand-new café, children’s corner, outside seating area, and space for vibrant activities, displays and events.

The Woodlands is a unique community space designed to inspire conversation and connection. It offers local people the opportunity to access workshops, hire out a space and interact with one another in a warm and open environment.

From Saturday 16 February the cafe will be open seven days and there are a number of events taking place the following week for local parents, neighbours and the wider community to encourage them to visit the new, purpose-built café and community hub.

Gail Whitehead, GP Care Services Chief Officer said: “The Willows is a valuable resource for the people of Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale and we're looking forward to providing support to those who need us and also to welcoming members of the local community to our café, social events and other activities.”

The Willows brings together health and social care to provide pioneering integrated care and support in Rochdale. The centre has been designed using Stirling University’s ‘Standards for Dementia Design’, to provide both residential and day care in a high-quality, welcoming and dementia-friendly environment.
