Praise for local libraries
Date published: 15 November 2007
Staff at libraries across the Borough are celebrating after being awarded top marks in a national children's customer satisfaction survey. The Children's PLUS survey put the 17 libraries in Rochdale, Heywood, Pennines and Middleton in the top 25% in the country for under 16s, with 89% of those questioned giving their local library the thumbs up.
The results, from the Institute of Public Finance, looked at libraries across the UK, which makes it extra special said Head of Service Paul Young: "This is a considerable achievement and everyone has been congratulated, but the work doesn't stop here, the survey responses contain lots of useful information for us about how we could further improve the service, so we will be looking to act on this in the coming months."
