Support our soldiers campaign

Date published: 10 December 2007

Heywood and Middleton Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Spokesman Councillor Wera Hobhouse welcomes the Support our Soldiers campaign as a unique moment to support our troops that are not spending Christmas at home.

Councillor Hobhouse got into the Christmas spirit by getting a parcel ready to send off to the troops.

Councillor Hobhouse commented: "It is important that at Christmas we remember the many service people who will not be spending Christmas at home with their families.

"We as a country are forever in their debt and I was excited to pack a present and send off to the troops this weekend.

"I encourage readers to join in this campaign."
