St Cuthbert's get ready for Remembrance

Date published: 07 November 2018

Plans are going ahead for St Cuthbert's RC High School initiative to commemorate those lives lost during conflict.

A spokesperson for the school said: “The local British Legion in Rochdale were very kind and brought some wreaths and extra poppies so that we can mark the day with some very fitting tributes.

“This year we are organising displays both inside and outside of school to honour the soldiers and the sacrifice they made.

“Part of our preparation for next week’s remembrance commemorations has been to create waterproof poppies for an outside display.

“All of Year 9 have been busy collecting plastic water bottles and turning them into individual flowers.

“As a whole school homework students have also been making a poppy to bring into school, students have even given up their lunchtimes to get involved.

“We are all looking forward to seeing how the display will be created, as it will be visible for people passing by to see.”
