The number of 10 and 11-year old children in the borough who are obese has risen again and is the highest since records began, data released by Public Health England shows.
Almost one in four children (23.3%) aged 10-11 in Rochdale Borough are classified as obese.

“We are working with a range of partners to promote physical activity for children and their families.
“We are working to make it easier for families to make healthy choices and use our cartoon character family, the Healthy Heroes, to spread healthy lifestyle messages to children.
“Tackling childhood obesity is highly complex and challenging and we recognise the important of working closely with parents, carers, and schools, if we are to succeed in reducing childhood obesity.”
