Car abandoned in Heywood river

An abandoned blue car was found in a river in Heywood on Friday afternoon (6 July).

Fire crews were called by police to the scene at Queen's Park, between Crimble Mill and the cricket club car park.

A spokesman for the fire service said: “The car was marooned in the river and we attended with water investigation crews. Searches were carried out, but no-one was found.”
