Consulate services in the community

Date published: 03 July 2018

Consulate general of Pakistan, Manchester office held another successful Nadra surgery at Deeplish Community Centre on Saturday 30 June.

This was to renew and apply for NADRA ID cards, which are valid for ten years and act as visa cards whilst travelling to Pakistan.

There were also children and parents making new applications to obtain Nadra cards and apply for urgent travel visa due to emergency travel to see families abroad.

Senior diplomatic officials attended the surgery and said: “Our purpose is to serve our community and support them in their issues relating to NADRA cards, emergency visas and attestations and verification of documents.

“NADRA and Consulate services are there to help elderly people, children and families who have mobility issues and so are unable to travel to main offices.

“We come to Deeplish Community which is at the heart of local community and we provide services at people’s door steps.

“We are pleased to see well organised surgery at Deeplish community centre where people are priority.

Sohail Ahmad JP said: “It is good to see local people benefitting from the consulate service and we appreciate the consulate's efforts in conducting these outreach surgeries at local level.

“This also gives them a chance to fully engage with the local community.

“This service is well used by children and elderly who are unable to make journeys to Manchester office during school week and here on weekend, its far easier, accessible and comfortable to see consulate staff during weekends.”
