Rochdale nursery officially rated ‘outstanding’

Date published: 02 July 2018

A day-care nursery in Rochdale has been graded ‘outstanding’ following the latest Ofsted inspection in June.

Seeros Daycare Nursery on Belfield Road opened ten years ago, and this year received the highest grading possible across all areas assessed.

Areas assessed included: effectiveness of the leadership and management, contribution to the well-being of children, meeting the needs of the range of children who attend and the quality and standards of teaching.

The nursery employs a total of 17 members of staff, all of which have a minimum of Level 2 in Child Care, and currently hosts a total of 100 children ranging from ages six months to four years.

Samira Ansari, managing director of the nursery, said: “We are all so delighted. The team have put a lot of hard work into achieving this.

“We’ve been striving for an outstanding rating for a very long time.

“All staff members have continuously worked hard by attending training courses and always stay up to date with new approaches.

“We are a very dedicated team.”

Commenting on why she thinks the nursery achieved ‘outstanding’ after previous ratings of ‘good’, Ms Ansari added: “We changed our teaching ethos so that all activities are now child-led and based on the child’s interests.

“We teach based on ‘in the moment’ planning.”

The nursery operates 11 months a year and delivers using up-to-date teaching methods and approaches in early years. A holiday club also runs during all school holidays.
