Ordinations of Deacons and Priests

Date published: 02 July 2018

New clergy were ordained Deacons yesterday, Sunday 1 July, in a special service at Manchester Cathedral and ordained Priest by the Bishop of Middleton at Manchester Cathedral on Saturday 23 June.

The clergy were ordained in joyful services attended by their family, friends, church members and supporting clergy.

The brand-new clergy will serve in parishes around Greater Manchester, where they will be welcomed and supported by their communities.

The Bishop of Manchester, The Rt Revd Dr David Walker, said: “It is an enormous privilege for me to ordain our new deacons as they embark on this new stage of their ministry to our churches across Manchester and beyond. It has been inspiring to be part of their journey towards this great day, and I look forward to celebrating with them as they prepare to serve in our diverse communities.”
