Huge fire in Kingsway area

A huge fire broke out off Kingsway at 11.30am on Thursday morning (28 June).
The fire involved a large amount of plastic, according to a spokesperson from the fire service.
Firefighters from Rochdale, Heywood, Broughton and Oldham battled the blaze with covering jets and an aerial platform, which spread to an adjoining building. Thermal imaging is being carried out to check for any further spread.

UPDATES
As of 1.16pm, the fire in a local mouldings yard is now under control.
A police cordon is currently in place nearby as of 2.10pm.
