Young woman taken to hospital with serious injuries after Oldham Road collision

A woman in her 20s was taken to hospital with serious injuries following a collision on Oldham Road in Balderstone on Wednesday morning (27 June).

She was cut free from her car, a white Toyota, which had collided with a blue Honda Jazz at around 11.20am, and taken to hospital with a serious arm injury.

The road, which was closed in both directions from Shaw Road to Langdale Avenue, reopened at around 3.15pm, and both vehicles have been recovered.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “We were called at 11.20am to reports of a collision blocking Oldham Road. Two vehicles were involved in the collision, and one was on its side. The Fire Service assisted and opened the roof of a car, freeing a young woman in hers 20s.

“She was taken to hospital with a serious arm injury.”
