Mindless vandalism sweeps Heywood as ATMs and bus stops smashed

Broken ATM
Two ATMs and all the bus stops in Heywood town centre have been smashed in a spree of seemingly mindless vandalism – just days before the town’s biggest event, the 1940s day.
Panels in five bus stops on Church Street and Market Street were shattered between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning, with glass shards dangerously littering the pavements.
Both cash machines at the Lloyds TSB bank on Market Street have also been smashed up multiple times this week, once during the same time period when the bus stops were vandalised, and again by Friday (15 June).
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "At around 6.25am on 13 June 2018, police received a report that four bus stops had been smashed on Market Street."
