Hamer Community Primary School

Some of our talented young sportspeople were out on a visit with children from across the IPLCN Schools on Monday. They went to the Sheffield Sports Arena to tour the facility and learn all about the kind of training regimes that athletes of all types participate in when at the very top of their sporting field.

The children enjoyed the trip very much and, who knows, maybe one day we will be cheering one of our fabulous Hamer children on towards an Olympic Gold Medal! Huge thanks to Mrs Booth for organising the visit for the children from our 12 schools.

On Tuesday, the cricket team were out at the IPLCN cricket tournament, again competing alongside children from the 12 IPLCN schools. They made it to the final and only missed out on the trophy by five runs. Well done cricket team; we are really proud of you.

All Year 1 children across the country will complete the annual phonics screening check next week and the results of these are reported when Year 1 parents receive the children’s written reports at the end of the summer term.

Families have already received one letter about our Fun Week taking place this half term. Look out for more letters and items on the Newsletter as the week approaches. The children are already buzzing with anticipation and we are sure this will be a hot topic of conversation at home.

Hamer will host an Eid Fair for parents to come in to buy things from stalls in the hall after school on Tuesday 19 June. We look forward to seeing many parents.

Eid Mubarak to all our families celebrating Eid next week. We hope all our families celebrating Eid next week. Have a lovely festival time together.

Some children who attend clubs in the morning are being dropped off far too early. This is a polite but insistent reminder that children may only be dropped off from 8am onwards and not before as there is no childcare for them before this time. Thank you.

A reminder that school is closed next Thursday 14 and Friday 15 June for annual staff training days. Thank you.
