Over 90 children and adults took part in the first-ever Sportsfest at Middleton Gardens on Saturday (2 June).

The Sportsfest event took place with different types of sporting activities, to encourage fitness and wellbeing by making exercise fun and promote local sports clubs.

Football team Middleton Colts delivered different training sessions throughout the day, made FIFA cards with the children and had 25 new young members sign up during the event.

Middleton Arena also joined in with 'Re–Bound,' a trampoline-based exercise to music., where children and adults alike were taken through workouts by an instructor.

The arena also gave out 'free' day passes for children to visit the Arena and see what other sporting activities are on offer.

Middleton Town Centre Manager, Victoria Davies, said: “For our first Sportsfest, it was really successful.

“We hope the event will become regular in Middleton Gardens and continue to grow over time to include more local sports clubs and activities.”
