Funding for local health-related projects delayed

Date published: 01 June 2018

Funding for health-related projects by the NHS Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale Clinical Commissioning Group (HMR CCG), as part of the Social Investment Fund, has been delayed.

Two separate funding opportunities – Strengthening Communities Fund and Supporting Communities Fund – were initially to be awarded in March and delivered in April 2018.

However, several of the local charities, community and voluntary organisations in the Rochdale Borough who applied say they have had very minimal communication regarding their applications.

A spokesperson for HMR CCG said: “This year the process has taken longer due to the quality and range of applications for the resource available resulting in some delay for some claimants.

"An initial response has gone to applicants and individual communication with each group is underway to support them in seeking alternative funding as an additional offer from HMR CCG.

“We will be announcing the successful schemes and what they aim to achieve shortly.”
