Rochdale graduate receives special award

Areeb Haidery, of Rochdale, was presented with a special award during his graduation ceremony, held at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Manchester.

Areeb (19), of Birchfield Drive, was presented with his graduation certificate, before being highly-praised for his impressive academic development for which he received a special progress award.

He is currently studying for A-Levels in biology, chemistry and physics at Abbey College Manchester and has received offers to study optometry at university.

Areeb said: “I am pleased that the progress I have made academically has been recognised with this award. The staff at the college have been very supportive.”

Principal at Abbey College Manchester, Liz Elam said: “Areeb has developed a lot during his time here due to his hard work and determination. We wish him the best of luck for the future.”
