Mum and daughter run to raise money for Annabel in Kenya

Date published: 29 May 2018

Deb Humphries and her 13-year old daughter Abi both took part in the Great Manchester Run, the half marathon and Junior Run respectively.

Proud mum and grandmother, Janice Powell  said: “It went well for both of them albeit a little warmer than anticipated.

“Abi ran 2.5km without stopping for the first time, which made her mum really proud.

“Despite the heat, Deb improved on last years’ time by two minutes and in only her third half marathon.

“They were raising funds for a little girl called Annabel who attends a school in Kenya, which was founded by a friend and fellow Manchester City fan, John Brooker.

“They are hoping to raise enough sponsorship for food for the family and hopefully to help Annabel’s mum to start her own business so the family can be more self-sufficient.”
