Baby Sensory waved their jazz hands for Tommy’s

Date published: 29 May 2018

A fundraising team of babies from Baby Sensory Rochdale and Ramsbottom donned their glitzy costumes and waved their jazz hands during their hour-long class to raise money for baby charity Tommy’s as they took part in a Showtime ‘Sensathon’ on Wednesday 23 May and Friday 25 May.

Babies were sponsored to complete a set of showtime challenges to fund vital research into miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth.

The classes at Rochdale Sports Club saw babies from 0-13 months dressed as showtime stage stars as they set out to save babies’ lives. Top hats, sparkly dresses and characters from musicals made an appearance on the babies. They aim to raise £500,000 from Baby Sensory and Toddler Sense classes across the country.

The money raised will help fund Tommy’s four research centres.

One in four UK parents loses a baby during pregnancy or birth and 60,000 babies are born prematurely each year.

Jane Brewin, Chief Executive of Tommy’s, said: “Sensathon is a great way for mums and dads to involve their babies in a good cause.

“Tommy’s relies on the generosity and hard work of its supporters like Baby Sensory to continue its pioneering research to prevent pregnancy complications. We hope everyone taking part has an amazing time.”
