Manchester Road, between the two roundabouts, off-peak lane closures to facilitate erection of new lighting columns.

Kingsway / Oldham Road (A671/A664)
This junction is now fully signalised and incorporates separate pedestrian controlled crossing points.

The traffic signals have allowed the re-opening of the length of Queensway between Oldham Road and Well i’th’ Lane which has been closed to through traffic since May. This enables drivers travelling from the town centre and Kingsway to head towards Castleton directly along Queensway without the need to use the one-way section of Oldham Road and the new link road.

Please note: Drivers heading for Rochdale Town Centre from Kingsway should be aware that they must turn left into the one way section of Oldham Road, as right turns are not permitted from Queensway at its junction with Well I’th Lane. Permanent signs are in place to indicate the direction to the town centre.

Drivers are asked to continue to take care as other works will be in progress around the junction for some time.

Please contact the information line (0845 602 0488) if you require any further guidance.
