JD Sports staff to raise £1,000 for charity by climbing one of England's highest mountains

Date published: 08 May 2018

21 members of staff at the JD Sports Distribution Centre are aiming to raise £1,000 for charity by climbing one of England’s highest mountains.

Warehouse operatives, admin staff and management at the sports retail centre at Kingsway Business Park will be climbing Skiddaw Mountain in the Lake District to raise money for Macmillan on 15 May.

At a height of 931m (3054ft), Skiddaw is one of the highest mountains in England after the Sca Fells and Helvellyn. To the north of the Lake District town of Keswick, Skiddaw dominates the skyline of the local area with its majesty emphasised by the flat valleys surrounding, which isolate it from the other nearby fells.
