Passengers injured when train hit by object

Four passengers were injured when an object struck a train window Mills Hill in Middleton shortly before 6pm on Saturday (5 May).

A British Transport Police spokeperson said: "The injuries are believed to be superficial with one woman being taken to hospital for further assessment.

"It is believed that the object was thrown from a nearby embankment."

An investigation is now under way to trace those responsible. Anyone with information is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40.
