Littleborough Community Business Champions

Date published: 03 May 2018

This Bank Holiday weekend Hare Hill House in Littleborough is joining other community businesses around the country to celebrate the third annual Community Business Weekend.

Aimed at shining a light on the 7,000 community businesses across England, Community Business Weekend offers a unique opportunity for local people to visit Hare Hill House and see how they can get involved.

Hare Hill House, which has been run by the community since 2013, is hosting workday on Saturday 5 May, from 10.30am to 3.00pm.

Nick Andrews, Project Champion at Hare Hill House said: “Our community has made a tremendous effort to save the building and create a facility that the community can be truly proud. Our work days provide an opportunity for local people to get involved, but do come along on Saturday and find out about how you too can help the project.”

Peter Jenkins, Interim Chief Executive at organisers Power to Change, added: “Community businesses are a great example of local people taking power into their own hands.  Every day tens of thousands of people get up and go to work at one of the 7,000 community businesses in England.  Hundreds of thousands of us shop, visit or benefit from them directly, but they are still relatively unknown."
