Maths Reasoning Group

Some of our children were out last Friday afternoon working with other gifted and talented mathematicians from across the IPLCN Schools with whom we work closely and collaboratively. The children are really getting their problem-solving brains challenged and rising to it every step of the way. Well done reasoning group.

EYFS Forest Schools

The young learners in our EYFS unit have been exploring learning outdoors in our Forest Schools programme. Just so parents are aware, we have three Teaching Assistant here who are fully trained in Forest Schools practice and it is an important part of our curriculum on offer at Hamer School.

SAT’s Testing

Soon the KS1 Children will be undertaking their SATs tests in school and this is dealt with in a non-stressful way for the children so that we can ascertain key assessment information which happens this terms in every school across the nation.

SAT’s week for Year 6 is slightly more formal, again in line with National Guidance and this will be the week beginning 14 May where we must have 100% attendance from all of Year 6.

Fasting and Ramadan

All parents will receive a letter about guidance specific to Primary Schools this week and Year 6 families will receive a second letter explaining the school’s position on this particular to children of this age at exam time. Please can parents look out for these and ask any questions you have relating to them by ringing in school and asking to speak to Mr Buxton-Moore.

School Health Drop-ins

Our NHS colleagues were in school last Wednesday and the sessions were very well attended. So, on behalf of our medical colleagues and Hamer school, thank you to all parents who attended and we hope that you found the experience and advice on offer helpful to you.

E-Safety Assembly

Many thanks to the parents who came to Mrs Coward and Mr Nadin’s special assembly and for supporting children’s safeguarding at home, in school and online. We hope parents found the content useful and supportive.
