Runners present cheque for over £1,200 to Bowel Cancer UK

Date published: 30 April 2018

A group of runners have presented Bowel Cancer UK with a cheque for over £1,200.

The funds, totalling £1,205, were raised earlier this month at the Mike McGee Memorial 5k on 11 April.

Presenting the cheque were Mike’s widow, Andrea, veteran runner Roger Colson and race organiser, Andy O’Sullivan.

Staged by Andems Runners, the 5k run takes place annually in memory of Mike, who died in 2012.

It starts at the Cock and Magpie pub in Whitworth, going on to take in the scenic views around Cowm Reservoir.
