Littleborough resident skydiving to raise money for charity

Date published: 25 April 2018

A Littleborough resident is raising money for charity by jumping out of a plane on 4 August.

Lisa Culshaw, who is raising money for Combat Stress, said: “We are quite often the ones who have to deal with the after effect of what they went through. We are picking up the pieces first and Combat Stress has the professionalism on dealing with what, unfortunately, is still a bit of a taboo subject.

“The awareness must be raised that this is nothing to be ashamed off and that people deal with their stress situations in different ways. There is help available, it is just getting them to seek help away from the unit and in a confidential manner which will not affect their role or ability to do a job they love.

“Combat Stress is taking up the slack of NHS being overwhelmed with Mental Health issues.”

Combat Stress is the UK's leading charity for veterans' mental health. For almost a century, they have helped former servicemen and women deal with issues like trauma, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Today, the charity provides support to veterans from every service and every conflict.

Lisa has raised £300 of her £500 target to date.
