1940s day at Healey Dell Tea Rooms

Date published: 23 April 2018

A 1940s War Day was held by Healey Dell Tea Rooms in the heart of a WWII munitions factory in Healey Dell.

Throughout the day, there were military vehicles on display, and people dressed in 40s fashion, with a prize for the most originally dressed evacuee child.

Music dating back to the era was played and ration bags available for purchase from the tea room’s ground floor kitchen.

Apple bobbing took place, plus a vintage pottery stall, a military memorabilia table and body painting by Maggie Padjouski.

A spokesperson said: “We would like to extend our grateful thanks to Jason and all the staff of the Co-op, Rooley Moor Road for their continued help, support and donations.”
