Operation to disrupt criminal activity and deter anti-social behaviour on Rochdale’s Metrolink network

Date published: 09 April 2018

A week-long operation to detect and disrupt criminal activity and deter anti-social behaviour on Rochdale’s Metrolink  network is running.

GMP officers from the Rochdale neighbourhood team are working alongside the Metrolink’s Customer Service Representatives (CSR) and travel safe officers.

The initiative follows the news that antisocial behaviour is plaguing the local Metrolink network.

A spokesperson from GMP said: “The aim is to detect and disrupt criminal activity and deter anti-social behaviour.

“Provide a reassuring uniformed presence to the public, ensuring that those travelling on the Metrolink enjoy a safe and pleasant journey.”
