Two men charged with burglary, theft from vehicle, theft and fraud

Date published: 05 April 2018

Keith Glover, aged 50 from the Milnow area, and a juvenile who cannot be named for legal reasons, have been arrested and charged overnight for a number of offences.

The arrests came after in depth enquiries by officers from GMP Rochdale’s neighbourhood policing team and CID officers from Lancashire Constabulary.

Both males were interviewed in relation to numerous offences across Greater Manchester Police and into Lancashire.

In the early hours, following consultation with CPS, both were charged with 11 offences, including Burglary, Theft from vehicle, theft and fraud from the Rochdale, Oldham, Newton Heath and Lancashire areas.

Sgt Price of the Rochdale Neighbourhood Policing team said: "I have heard from the community first-hand about their experiences of being targeted by criminals and on occasion that victims have not received a personal visit from a Police Officer. I understand that this can cause frustration.  As an officer with 17 years’ service I have seen major changes to how we operate, and these changes are based on prioritising our work based on the threat, risk and harm.

"We work to try and protect the public and to provide the best service possible. We cannot function effectively without the community’s support.  I am proud of the hard work and commitment these neighbourhood officers have shown to the community and hope that the court system will follow up with a suitable punishment, should they be found guilty at court."

Both were remanded to appear at Manchester Magistrates Court this morning and then will be taken to Blackburn Magistrates Court from there.
