Paramedics to run double Tough Mudder for North West Air Ambulance

Date published: 04 April 2018

Two paramedics are set to run a double Tough Mudder for North West Air Ambulance in September.

Tony Jones, an Emergency Medical Technician for North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) from Rochdale, and Lee Ellis, a paramedic from Burnley, will be running the notoriously muddy obstacle course at Cholmondeley Castle in Cheshire on both Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 September.

One of the world’s toughest events, Tough Mudder is a 10-12 mile mud run with over 20 gruelling obstacles, designed to drag you out of your comfort zone by testing your physical strength, stamina, and mental grit.

Tony said: “Both of us have completed Tough Mudder twice over the last two years both doing it on one day of the weekend. This year we wanted to challenge ourselves and raise awareness and money for the air ambulance by trying to complete it on both the Saturday and the Sunday.

“Our aim is to complete the first day as fast as we can as a team. On the second day, we are hoping to be joined by anyone who wishes to compete to give us that much needed boost to get us around.”
