New community substance misuse service opens

ROAR, Rochdale & Oldham Active Recovery, a service to support adults with drug and alcohol problems, is being launched by social enterprise Turning Point, .

Turning Point, which has over 50 years’ experience in supporting people with drug and alcohol problems, will provide a range of interventions to support all aspects of problematic drug and alcohol use including medical support.

The new integrated substance misuse support service will operate across both boroughs - 13 St. Chads Court, Rochdale and Greaves Street, Oldham - aiming to improve recovery rates and respond to changing local drug and alcohol trends.

Services will continue to be provided from a range of locations in Rochdale and Oldham.

Charity, Groundworks is also providing a dedicated employment coach.

Gill Campbell, Head of Operations North West at Turning Point, said: “Turning Point is looking forward to delivering a high quality service for the residents of Rochdale and Oldham.

“We will continue to provide medical, social and psychological support whilst providing innovative packages of care for our service users and their families to support their long term recovery."
