Heywood Lions Charter Anniversary

Heywood Lions Club members and their guests enjoy the clubs 45th birthday party at the Royal Toby Hotel. 

Friends and fellow Lions from all over the North West joined President Lion Steve Brown and Lion Janet Brown, District Governor Lion Roy Axten and Lion Liz Axten, the Mayor and Mayoress, Ian Duckworth and Christine Duckworth and Heywood Rotary President Frank Coates and Susan Coates for a lunch of fun and fellowship.

Awards were presented to members of Heywood Lions Club:

Lions Mary Hilton and Cynthia Thompson were presented with certificates of appreciation by the Mayor for the work they do for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

Lions Irene Sagar and Cynthia Thompson with 20 year and 15 year service awards respectively.

Lion Janet Brown with a membership sponsorship key.

Lion President Steve Brown was presented by the club with a Bert Mason Humanitarian Award for his exceptional service to Lions and the community of Heywood. The Bert Mason Humanitarian Award is named after currently the only Lion from the British Isles and Ireland to be the Association's International President.
