Littleborough CPS Musical Theatre Group success

This year we had a Musical Theatre entry with Year 6 children in the Rochdale Music Festival. You will recall that last year we won both sections of the Music Festival. This year we are delighted to have won again.

‘Cub reporters’

Our ‘Cub reporters’ from Year 4 have written a report about the Music Festival:

‘A group of children, belonging to the Musical Theatre Club, from LCPS, recently went to the Rochdale Music Festival. This was held in the town hall. They performed songs from the musical ‘The sound of Music.’ We interviewed them, and they said they loved their experience in the music festival, it was an exciting opportunity.

They were in a competition against other local schools. They won first place! Mrs Mulcaster (who runs the group) was very proud of the group and hope they will do it again with even more children involved.’

Books and Reading

Book Fair week was re-arranged to start on Friday 23 March and finished on Thursday 29 March. World Book Day was on Wednesday 28 March to coincide with Book Week.

Children didn’t have to dress up, but they could dress up as their favourite character or come in pyjamas.

The Learning Challenge will be given every half term and we will no longer have Bronze, Silver or Gold rewards, as all children make so much effort with their Learning Challenges.

Enrichment

We are so proud of our Enrichment programme. Football, Cricket, Dance, Climbing and Dodgeball are all very popular so please ensure your child has their equipment in school each week. There is also Swimming, Mad Science, Maths club, Book club, Film club and many others.

Mothers’ Day Pop Up - Thank you for your support. We raised over £400!

Musical Celebration Evening

After the success of last year, we had a Music Celebration evening so that all parents, including families of the children in the Band, drama groups and choirs can come and see them perform.  We are very proud of our musical achievements.

Parents had an hour of pure pleasure.

Nursery and Reception places 2018

Nursery and Reception places are filling up in our popular Nursery and Reception for September 2018. Application forms for Nursery are held in our school office. Flexible hours are available including the 15 or 30 hours entitlements.
