Cast to play Rochdale Feel Good Festival

Date published: 22 March 2018

Indie rock band Cast have been added to the line-up for Rochdale Feel Good Festival this summer.

The band, fronted by John Power (a former member of iconic indie group The La’s), will play the main stage by Rochdale Town Hall on Saturday 18 August.

Cast released three top ten albums in the 90s -  ‘All Change’ became the biggest selling album of all time for Polydor Records, ‘Mother Nature Calls’ went platinum and ‘Magic Hour’ reached number six in 1999.

Their debut single ‘Finetime’ hit the top 20 in 1995 and was followed by a stack of UK chart hits and crowd favourites including ‘Alright’, ‘Sandstorm’, ‘Flying’, ‘Walkaway,’ ‘Free Me’, ‘Guiding Star’, ‘Live the Dream’ and ‘Beat Mama’.

In 2012, the bands original line-up reunited for ‘Troubled Times’.

In 2015, Cast celebrated the 20th anniversary of their classic ‘All Change’ album with sold out shows at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall.

In 2017, they released their latest album ‘Kicking Up The Dust’ and completed a sell-out UK tour as special guests to Shed Seven.

Ben Boothman, owner of main stage sponsor The Flying Horse Hotel said: “We're going to be treated to some classic Britpop from Cast and there are tracks on their latest album that are every bit as good as those they put out in the 90s."
