Fundraiser launched for funeral of young father-to-be who died after car crash

Date published: 16 March 2018

A fundraiser has been launched for a young father-to-be’s funeral after he died in a car crash on Mother’s Day.

Jordan Matthew, from Rochdale, was a passenger in a dark-coloured Ford Focus, which crashed and overturned on Todmorden Road, Bacup during the early hours of the morning.  The car was driven by his cousin, Matthew Horridge, a father of three.

The pair were later pronounced dead in hospital.

Jordan, 22, also known as ‘Milky’, was a former pupil at Wardle Academy and Hopwood Hall College.  He was expecting a baby girl this year with his girlfriend, Millie, and worked at Baxters Builders and Joiners.

Family friend Fiona Ratić said: “The sadness that the families are going through is insurmountable. Jordan was a kind hearted, friendly, fabulous, genuine and funny guy and was a diamond to his friends and family.

“Our lives are so much poorer without him.”
