Have you seen missing Arthur Thompson? - UPDATE Arthur found

Date published: 01 March 2018

Police are searching Middleton, Rochdale and Rossendale for missing Arthur Thompson, 57.

Due to the extremely cold and icy conditions police are incredibly concerned for the safety of Arthur who has been missing from a care home in Rossendale since Tuesday.

Arthur enjoys walking outdoors but is not equipped to deal with the weather conditions.

He also has a number of medical conditions and does not have his medication with him.

Arthur, who has links to Middleton and Rochdale, left his home in Newchurch Road, Rossendale, at around 1pm on Tuesday, saying he was going shopping.

He has not been seen since.

When he was last seen, he was wearing grey trousers, a white shirt, a black coat and a black and blue hat.

Sgt Daniel Gunn, of Lancashire Constabulary's East Division, said: “We are very worried about Arthur as he does not have his medication or any suitable clothing to manage in the weather conditions we are currently experiencing.

“He has been missing overnight for two nights now and we really need to make sure he is safe.

“Arthur regularly chooses to walk rather than taking public transport but in the current weather conditions we are concerned for his safety.

"He may have travelled on public transport or be walking outdoors and could have gone to Manchester."

If you have seen Arthur, or have any information, please call 101 quoting log LC-20180227-1329.
