Tesco, Silk Street and Flying Horse - open invitation to any stranded motorists

Open invitation to any stranded motorists who can’t get back home and need somewhere warm to stay for the night, as the M62 is closed again.

Tesco, Silk Street, Rochdale OL11 3ER has a large back car park to accommodate at least 30 wagons, a large warm cafe area with comfy seats and offices people ican be accomodated in.

A spokesperson said: "We can supply air beds, pillows and duvets, until we run out if any existing shelters need support.

"Our number here is 0191 6935254, my name is Caire, if you need help local to Rochdale call and we will see what we can do."

The Flying Horse Hotel, 37 Packer Street, Town Centre, Rochdale, OL16 1NJ also has 10 beds in the function room available for stranded people.

Owner Ben Boothman said: "Beds made, tea and coffee and hot soup or stew - all free for those in need.

"These people are literally driving the streets, it is like something off a movie!"
