Police asking people to avoid travel

Current roads affected by snow and high wind, 2.00pm Thursday 1 March

Police are urging the public to avoid travelling if not necessary, following the heavy snowfall and windy conditions.

Wildhouse Lane in Rochdale has been closed due to snowdrifts.

The Metrolink line between Manchester Victoria and Rochdale is suspended due the weather conditions. Tickets will be accepted on replacement bus services and 58, 59, 81, 83, 180, 181,182, 184 services, tickets are also being accepted on Northern Rail.
