Fall in antisocial behaviour on the borough’s Metrolink network

Date published: 28 February 2018

A fall in antisocial behaviour on the borough’s Metrolink network and bus services has occurred in recent months as a team of Police Constables, Police Community Support Officers, Special Constables and TravelSafe Officers carry out regular patrols on the network.

Ten additional Police Community Support Officers have been in post since December 2017 and are now involved in the task of reducing crime and antisocial behaviour on the region’s bus and tram networks. The new officers will provide an increased staff presence on the various transport networks, particularly in the evening and at weekends.

Chief Inspector Nick Hill said: “Antisocial behaviour will not be tolerated and is being addressed head on. I am very proud of the way all agencies are working together to tackle this persistent problem.”
