18 bags of rubbish collected from Ashworth Valley

Date published: 20 February 2018

A group of volunteers from the Ashworth Valley, fed up with the mess in the valley, decided to act and collected 18 bags of assorted rubbish along with several larger items at Simpson Clough and Dobbs Wood.

A spokesperson for the group said: “Whilst approaching Dobbs Wood, we found yet another large crack in the field, not really visible from the road, relating to the landslip which has caused the road to be closed.

“This one is running at right angles to Ashworth Road straight down the field towards the river and Dobbs Wood.

“There is evidence of some sinking.”
