A dance academy has raised much-needed funds for a local foodbank.

Heywood’s KATS Dance Academy raised £585 for the Heywood Foodbank during its December awards presentation.

This brings the total raised by KATS on behalf of the foodbank to £3,085 since adopting it as their official charity.

A cheque for the funds was presented by  KATS’ Sarah Briggs to Susan Coates and Christine Downham Clarke, both of the Foodbank, on Monday evening (12 February) prior to the Heywood Charities Fete AGM.

The Foodbank's Ms Coates said: “We would like once again to thank KATS for their generous contribution.

“The money they have raised on our behalf goes a long way to helping run the foodbank.

KATS dancers play an important role in the community and we at the foodbank are delighted to work alongside them.”
