Care home swings into action with special 1940s themed day

Date published: 14 February 2018

A Rochdale care home had a special 1940s themed day to celebrate national Dignity Action Day.

Residents and staff at Half Acre House Care Home, on Roch Valley Way, enjoyed an afternoon of music, games and entertainment to mark the annual event.

To help celebrate the special day, there was a surprise visit from Armed Forces veterans, who joined in the fun by dressing in 1940s attire.

Half Acre House, which holds themed events for residents and staff throughout the year, was praised for celebrating the day in such an innovative way.

Anita Lewis, owner of Half Acre House Care Home, said: “We are proud of our record of upholding the dignity of our staff and residents, so it was only right we marked the event with a special celebration. Everyone embraced the 1940s theme and I was thrilled with how it went. A good time was certainly had by all.”
