River Roch, the Memorial Garden fountain and Packer Spout fountain cleaned up

Date published: 25 January 2018

River Roch, the Memorial Garden fountain and Packer Spout fountain have been cleaned up.

A team spent a day clearing over 30 bags of litter and rubbish from the grass and bushes at the side of the river, the river itself and the two fountains.

Work started in mid-November and will be ongoing every two weeks to ensure the spaces are "kept in the best condition possible for all to enjoy".

Councillor Neil Emmott, council cabinet member for housing and environment, said: "We are delighted with the difference these regular clean ups have made to the river and the look and feel of the town in general. This again reflects our commitment to creating a cleaner, greener borough for our residents to enjoy.”
