Beech House School

Football

Six boys from Beech House School Year's 3-6 attended a football tournament at the Soccer Factory. The boys played a total of four, seven-minute matches.

The boys first game was against Woodland, and with a few penalties going against us, we were down 0 -5 within the first four minutes.

Aaron Waddington then stepped up to mark, scoring a fantastic penalty, making the score 1-5.

Unfortunately, the boys were unable to make much difference to their own score line and ended up losing their first game 10-1.

The second game against St Peters was an improvement.

Some fantastic saves in net by our reserve keeper Christian Cullen and some good defending from our captain Aaron Waddington.

The boys worked hard, but unfortunately were unable to stop some great strikes from the opposition, causing the game to be lost 0 -5.

Back with Emaan Malek in goal, our third game v’s Woodland ended 0 - 3.
Cristiano Bernales stringing together some good passes and some good tackles being put in by our defender Zak Gorton-Rigg, and a shot from Zidan Ilahi, just going slightly wide.

The boys continued to show great work ethic, but were unable to put anything past Woodlands keeper.

Our final match against Caldershaw was the boy’s best performance so far.

The team showed great communication and teamwork skills, and ran their socks off.

We were unlucky not to score on a number of occasions, but the boys were happy with their 0-0 draw.

Emaan Malek performed excellently throughout the tournament, but particularly in this game where he showed great bravery.

A Rochdale coach even commented on how impressed he were with Emaans goal keeping skills. Well done Emaan.

An Acrostic Poem by Year Six

A very old school, but it feels like home.
Excellent effort grades mean extra treats at home.
Eating lunches with our younger friends and chatting about the day.
Cross country causes chaos for the caretakers.
Hours feel like minutes in class as we are taught by the best teachers.

Happy memories that will never be forgotten.
Our school is our home where we study for our education.
Understanding work, made easy by caring teachers.
Shrunken blazers, smelly armpits and lost P.E kits sum up Year Six!
English lessons are fun, learning mnemonics for tricky spellings.

Sports days are brilliant and staff races make us laugh!
Can’t wait for the challenges we will face next year.
Houses competing at every event (but Saturn are the best!)
One big family is how we see ourselves.
Open doors and happy faces.
Losing fixtures but never giving up, because we are
BEECH HOUSE SCHOOL and this is US!
