The Corps of Drums looking for budding drummers

Date published: 24 January 2018

The Corps of Drums of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers (Lancashire) is looking for new members to join them in their anniversary year.

Based at Castle Armoury in Bury, the Corps of Drums of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers (Lancashire) was founded by its current president to keep alive the tradition of the former constituent regiments; one of which was The Lancashire Fusiliers XX and now The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers.

The drums perform regularly in the local area and at venues across the UK as well as providing entertainment at military functions and dinners. The drums have also performed on an international level with special trips taking place to Germany and Canada.

The Corps of Drums is made up of side drums, tenor and base as well as the fifes and the glockenspiel.

No experience is necessary as full training will be provided along with instruments and uniform.

It is free to join the corps of drums and is open to both men and women to join.

Rehearsals also take place every Wednesday at the Castle Armoury from 7.30pm - 9.30pm.
