Greenwood Street from its junction with Great George Street

Location: To temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Greenwood Street from its junction with Great George Street for a distance of 30 metres in a south easterly direction.

Expected start and finish: 8am, Thursday, 4 January 2018 - 6pm, Wednesday, 4 April 2018.

Reason: To facilitate the safe renovation works to adjacent building.

Alternative route: The alternative route for vehicles is via Great George Street, School Lane, Greenwood Street and vice-versa.

Edinburgh Way

Location: To temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along the slip roads of Edinburgh Way, northbound and southbound onto and from the A627M.

Expected start and finish: 7pm-7am, Tuesday, 30 January 2018 - Sunday, 4 March 2018. The night time closures will be in place as and when required.

Reason: To facilitate the safe resurfacing of the highways

Alternative route: The alternative route for vehicles is via Edinburgh Way south easterly direction, Queensway, Edinburgh Way in a north westerly direction.

Thornham New Road from its junction with Bowden Close

Location: To temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Thornham New Road from its junction with Bowden Close for distance of 50 metres in a south westerly direction.

Expected start and finish: 9.30am - 3.30pm, Monday, 5 February 2018.

Reason: To facilitate safe repairs to a manhole cover in the carriageway.

Alternative route: The alternative route for vehicles will be via Thornham New Road, Chatburn Avenue, Croydon Avenue, Chesham Avenue, Manchester Road, Thornham New Road and vice versa.

Area: Middleton

Spring Vale from its junction with Townley Street

Location: To temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Spring Vale from its junction with Townley Street for a distance of 20 metres in an easterly direction.

Expected start and finish: Friday, 27 October 2017 - midnight, 23 March 2018.

Reason: To allow the safe investigation and repair of a collapse in the carriageway.

Alternative route: The alternative route for vehicles is via Spring Vale, Townley Street, Oldham Road and vice-versa.

Falcon Drive and Mosedale Road, Middleton

Location: Falcon Drive, Middleton, for its entire length. Mosedale Road, Middleton, from a point 70 metres south of its junction with Falcon Drive for the remainder of its length in a northerly direction.

Expected start and finish: 8am, Sunday, 10 December 2017 - 6pm, Wednesday, 28 February 2018.

Reason: To facilitate the safe installation of a new sewer and reconstruction of the carriageways.

Alternative route: The alternative route for vehicles will be via, Newton Crescent, Gale Drive, Mosedale Road, and vice versa.

Lincoln Road

Location: To temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Lincoln Road from its junction with Mainway East to a point 25 metres south of its junction with Mainway East.

Expected start and finish: 8am, Wednesday, 21 February 2018 - 6pm, Friday, 23 February 2018.

Reason: To facilitate the safe installation of sewer monitoring equipment.

Alternative route: The alternative route for vehicles will be via, Mainway East, Andover Avenue, Lincoln Road and vice versa.

Area: Pennines

Rakewood Road, Littleborough

Location: Rakewood Road, Littleborough, from the entrance of the Visitors Centre Car Park to a point 350 metres south-east of its junction with Syke Road, which is to the footpath around Hollingworth Lake.

Expected start and finish: 10.30am -1.30pm, Sunday, 28 January 2018.

Reason: To facilitate the safe holding of the of the Springhill Hospice Santa Dash or Dawdle.

Alternative route: Not applicable.

Smithy Bridge Road

Location: Introduce a 1-way working in a northerly direction on Smithy Bridge Road, in so far as vehicles will not be permitted to travel along Smithy Bridge Road in a southerly direction from its junction with Halifax Road to its junction with Lightburn Avenue.

Introduce a 1-way working in a westerly direction on Old Road, in so far as vehicles will not be permitted to travel along Old Road in an easterly direction from its junction with Calliards Road to its junction with Smithy Bridge Road. Prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Whitegate at its junction with Smithy Bridge Road.

Expected start and finish: 6am, Saturday, 10 February 2018 - 6pm, Friday, 16 February 2018.

Reason: To enable United Utilities to renew existing apparatus located in the carriageway.

Alternative route: The alternative route for vehicles affected by the one-way working on Old Road is via Calliards Road, South View Road, Smithy Bridge Road. The alternative route for vehicles affected by the closure of Whitegate is via Lightburn Avenue, Stopford Avenue, Whitegate and vice-versa.
