Littleborough Civic Trust visited Chester on Sunday.

The party was hosted by members of Chester Civic Trust and commenced with a visit to Bishop Lloyd’s Palace, a Grade One listed building which forms the Chester Civic Trust’s headquarters.

This building is one of the oldest and most fascinating buildings on the historic Rows of Chester.

John Kay said: “David Evans from the Chester Civic trust gave the party a short talk about the various uses to which the building had been put over the centuries which included a brothel at one time.

“It was now in more respectable use as a meeting room for various organisations.

“The party was then taken on a short tour of the historic area by Blue Badge member Peggy who pointed out many interesting buildings and gave the party information which they could then follow up during the free period for lunch, a visit to the famous Chester Christmas Market and a wander around this fascinating town before the party took their coach back to Littleborough.”
